You see your husband standing by the front door, crying.
What’s the first thing that comes to your mind?
What if he’s also disabled with a shattered pelvis?
This was exactly the situation that Brittany Garrett found herself in, one morning where everything had been going well until that point.
Brittany, fearing the worst, asked with a trembling voice:
“What’s wrong, Christopher?”

Christopher is a veteran who shattered his pelvis during combat in Iraq. Thankfully, after a lot of hard work and effort, he is able to walk and do most physical activities, but not without a heavy limp. This makes simple chores, such as mowing the lawn, much harder for him.
Much to Brittany’s delight, the tears streaming down Christopher’s face were actually tears of joy.

In his hand, he held an anonymous letter:
I hope this saves times for the things that matter most in your life. Thank you for your service and for my freedom. Sincerely, a grateful American.

The letter accompanied a gift that anyone in Christopher’s shoes could absolutely appreciate — a riding lawn mower!
Christopher no longer needs to rely on his standard push mower when he’s mowing the lawn every week. This amazing gift would save him so much time and trouble!
The Garretts were blown away by this gesture of appreciation. Since there was no specified sender other than the John Deere company, Brittany decided to express her gratitude publicly on Facebook.
“Thank you whoever you are! You don’t know how much pain this is going to save him from!”
Christopher later added:
‘The war that I have seen has hardened my perception of society, but after today, I truly understand that everyone has their place to be a hero.”
