The 46th President of the United States joins his predecessors at the Hall of Presidents in Disney World, Florida.
The Hall of Presidents has been a highlight of the park ever since it opened in 1971, and over the following 50 years has sought to bring to life “the heritage of the United States and (share) the symbolic importance and uniqueness of the office of the President.”
Disney World officials said that they were putting the finishing touches on the animatronic Biden imitation ahead of its presentation next month at the Magic Kingdom attraction.
Disney’s creative teams have been busy programming an Audio-Animatronics replica of the President, using a recording of his voice, and it will join Florida’s Hall of Presidents next month.
The Biden figure will recite the oath of office, which was recorded by the president especially for Disney, and then provide a short speech to the audience.
The educational attraction, located at Disney’s Magic Kingdom park, features moving and speaking Audio-Animatronics replicas of all the U.S. presidents, as well as three “massive” digital projection screens.
The Biden robot is set to take center stage at the Liberty Square attraction in a dark suit and red-and-blue striped tie.
Next to the figure, on a table, is a series of signature items including a pair of Biden’s aviator sunglasses, a bundle of Amtrak tickets in a nod to his days as a commuter in the Senate, and a vase of peach blossom, the 78-year-old’s home state of Delaware.
“Just as Walt envisioned, creative teams, have been busy programming an Audio-Animatronics replica of the President,” Disney’s Thomas Smith wrote in a blog post. “Pairing it with a delivery of the presidential oath of office recorded at the White House by President Biden himself just for the attraction.”
“Every detail comes together to create a realistic and symbolic glimpse into the office of the President through the years, from the carefully tailored clothing to the props, documents, and furniture placed throughout the stage.”
Every former leader of the United States is represented at the Hall of Presidents, with the attraction originally set to feature wax figures.
But Walt Disney was not impressed by these suggestions so tasked the park’s creative teams with developing the first Audio-Animatronics in human form.
Visitors to the Hall of Presidents can watch a 25-minute show describing the story of the United States’ founding and major points in U.S. history, with famous speeches by presidents like Abraham Lincoln and John F. Kennedy delivered by their Audio-Animatronics likenesses on stage.
It’s been confirmed the droid of former President Donald Trump will also remain on-site, despite the protests.
When President Trump took office in 2017, Disney World debuted his replica along with enhancements to the show and some lobby touch-ups that following December.
According to the Associated Press, people have been petitioning for Disney to keep the Trump robot silenced. But these efforts have been to no avail.
Though Former President Donald Trump’s replica will be moved to another spot in the Magic Kingdom now that his term is over.
