Disney has introduced character face masks in all sizes to raise money for coronavirus charity organizations.
After the CDC has advised people to wear a mask whenever they have to go in public, several countries are considering making it mandatory.
Some states have even made it compulsory for citizens to cover their face when outside, in addition to maintaining social distance.
Thankfully, Disney has come up with a new line of products as a substitute to odd-looking blue hospital masks.
From now on, Disney will be selling its child-friendly masks featuring popular characters from Marvel, Star Wars, and Pixar productions. But don’t worry if you aren’t a kid!
The reusable cloth masks will be available in all sizes.
Disney has taken the initiative to raise relief funds for a charity organization MedShare.
According to the company, all proceeds earned till September 30, 2020, will be donated to MedShare to be given away to hospitals and healthcare centers in the form of supplies.
To get the fancy face coverings, you can pre-order them at shopdisney.com. The price is set to be $20 for a packet of four.
Speaking of the new launch, Senior Vice President of Disney store Edward Park said: “We realize this is a challenging time for families and wearing any type of mask can be daunting.
“Our hope is that Disney’s cloth face masks featuring some of our most beloved characters will provide comfort to the families, fans and communities that are so important to us.”
Besides giving away the proceeds, Disney will also be donating one million masks to MedShare to be distributed among deserving families in Florida and California, Walt Disney World Resort, and homes of Disneyland.
Appreciating Disney’s efforts in helping people during these times, MedShare CEO and President Charles Redding said: “Disney’s donations will make a tremendous impact in the communities we serve.
“Their contribution of one million Disney cloth face masks will be provided to families in underserved communities and organizations working to limit the spread of COVID-19, while their monetary donation will be used to support the medical community’s ongoing efforts to provide lifesaving care to those who need it most.”
