A subscriber was left stunned after contacting Disney Customer Support only to come across a foul-mouthed employee who showered him with insults out of nowhere.
The incident happened as 23-year-old Disney+ subscriber Reece Scott from the UK contacted the platform’s support desk in order to resolve a connectivity issue he’d been experiencing.
As Mr. Scott explained, he’d been facing an error when trying to play Brother Bear via the streaming service.
While the Surrey-based subscriber most likely thought his issue would be resolved after starting a live chat with an agent, things quickly took an unexpected turn as the employee called him a “who**” and told him to “eat sh**”
As seen in the text exchange, Scott politely asked the employee to resolve his issue to which the agent responded with curse words.
After the young man replied to the agent with “Excuse me?” the latter responded by typing: “Suck my d***. What part of that don’t you understand?”
According to the reports, Disney+ has confirmed the exchange between Scott and their employee and insisted that an investigation is in place and that the agent has been dismissed.
“I was so shocked. I was sitting by myself and just thought ‘is this real, surely this isn’t real?’ I thought ‘am I on the right page, am I in the right place? This can’t be right,’” Scott said.
“This is Disney, they’re as PG as it gets. They’re a family company, they’re the mouse house. I didn’t think they would respond like that. All I did was ask them to check my IP, there wasn’t even an exchange.”
According to Scott, Disney+ gave him a phone call to confirm the transcript and inform him that the agent is “going to be fired.”
“They read the transcript and the guy put me on hold and when he came back he said ‘my colleague almost fell over when I read it out to her,’” the 23-year-old said.
