Disneyland in Paris, France, has announced that the theme park will remain open even though one of the workers at the park got tested positive for Covid-19.
According to the French media, the maintenance worker who got infected with the killer bug has been quarantined whereas his colleagues are being tested for the virus as well.
While Disneyland will remain open despite the confirmed infection within its walls, the park has urged visitors to keep their distance from each other while queuing for rides. In addition, they will provide a sanitizing gel to all visitors.
As BFMTV stated, the officials of the theme park claimed that the worker performed “behind the scenes” and didn’t come into contact with the park’s visitors.
Previously, Tokyo Disneyland announced that it has been closing down for business amid coronavirus outbreak in Japan.
As the company revealed, they will likely reopen for business on March 16, “but we will contact closely with the relevant administrative organs and will inform you again.”
The decision means that currently both Disneyland and DisneySea parks in Tokyo are closed.
The preventive measures were taken after over 200 cases of coronavirus infections were recorded in the country.
In January, Disney had also closed theme parks in Shanghai and Hong Kong as the deadly virus was spreading throughout China.
As the parks’ officials confirmed at the time, they’re expecting to lose some $280 million due to the 2-month closure of Hong Kong and Shanghai Disneyland parks.
