What do you do with the kids’ outgrown clothes, then?
Sometimes, it’s easy to find a family member to pass them down to. Other times, it’s simply not that easy.
Meet memory bear, which could be the solution to your problem!

Basically, you can make your own plush toys from onesies and blankets that have become too small, or too worn to donate. Not only are you making a doll for your children, but you are also preserving the memory of their childhood!

Here are the basic steps:
First, dismantle the fabric or the onesie that you wish to upcycle.
Figure out how to fit the pattern on the available fabric, as you will want to include them on the body of the bear.
Then, knit fabric likes to stretch. Cut out your pattern pieces, and sew the pieces together from the forehead to the bottom of the belly. Sew the back pieces together from the back of the head to the bottom of the bum.
Then, you can embroider the eyes on – using buttons, or other items that you want to use.

When you’re finished, sew the front and back pieces together.
Also, don’t forget to sew the ears!
Now comes the step where you stuff the arms and legs. Make sure to stuff evenly, so that the bear will come out in a perfect shape. After you stuff the rest of the bear, stitch it closed by hand with a ladder stitch.
You’re pretty much done! If you want to, you can add little details like a bow, or embroidering a nose on the bear.
