A doctor from Wuhan, China was earlier summoned by the police on the terms of spreading illicit rumours associated with Coronavirus before it became a global emergency says that he has now become infected by it.
Doctor Li Wenliang explained in a group chat with his colleagues and medical peers that he had treated a patient with a similar situation to SARS. It is a condition that is caused by Coronavirus and was accountable for the death of over 700 people during the 2003 outbreak.
When he shared the news, Wenliang mentioned that there are around seven confirmed cases of SARS. In a post on Weibo, a Chinese social media platform, the doctor explained after the message; he was contacted by the police.
He was made to sign a formal criticism letter. Wenliang works at one of the reputed medical centres that treat patients at ground zero shares the photos of the criticism letter that was sent to him by policy earlier in January.
The letter explained that I had disrupted many social orders while the virus had already killed over 300 people when the letter was sent to him.
The letter read that the police believe that the doctor will cooperate with them, listen to their advice, and don’t go further with this illegal behaviour.
To which, Wenliang responded by saying that yes he can. If he continues with his behaviour, strict legal actions would be taken against him.
In the recent past, the doctor confirmed that he, too, had now been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. His parents were also diagnosed with the same after they also experienced flu-like symptoms.
With the serious condition that Coronavirus has spread around the world, People’s Court of China has criticized the Wuhan police for how they treated the doctors.
