Dr. George Diaz treated the first patient with COVID-19 in January with redelivering. This was an experimental anti-viral that the country approved for emergency use.

Even after the patient was recovered from the medication, the doctor said that isolation is still the best treatment. He also expressed his worries that when the economy reopens, it may see an outbreak again that will be as damaging the first one.

Dr. Diaz said that the first outbreak was very challenging for the country as well as the entire world. Since the first coronavirus case identified in January, the United States has experienced the highest positive cases.

Presently the country has around 1.2 million positive COVID-19 cases along with 69,780 fatalities. The doctor added that the concerning thing is that the country may run out of resources to deal with the second outbreak.

And despite news of increasing death rates, some states have begun to ease the lockdown restrictions to reopen the economy, which has left over 30 million people jobless in six weeks.

Remdesivir manufactured by Gilead Sciences has shown to shorten the recovery time in some patients.

With vaccines still pending, the drug is used to fight the virus, but the doctor warns that it should be used with extreme caution. It is not the treatment, and people cannot consider it as the ultimate solution.

It is important that people follow social distancing guidelines. According to a recent report, the death toll due to COVID-19 might reach 3000 per day by June 1st, 2020.

However, Dr. Diaz claimed it to be false information.
