Kate and Lucas were overwhelmed with joy when they discovered that they were expecting a newborn.
They could not hide it from anyone, not even the doctors.
A few weeks that followed the discovery, the couple decided to go for their first ultrasound, and the doctor joked: “Let us examine the heartbeat to find out if there is more than one baby in there!” The only thing that he didn’t know was that his joke would turn out to be the reality.
Just a few minutes had passed before the doctor lifted his hand of two fingers pointing up while the rest of the fingers folded.
“Two babies are in there!” the doctor said affirmatively. Everyone was happy for the new revelation including the couple themselves.
Unluckily, it was no good news at all! What was it?
The ultrasound results indicated that the two babies had first separated at around 8 to 13 days following the implantation, which implied that there was no protective membrane separating the twins. That sounded strange to many who are not conversant with such terms. It even confused many people and if you are feeling the same, don’t worry, you are not alone.
The twins, who were discovered to be all girls, were monoamniotic twins. That means that apart from being identical, they share the same umbilical cord and an inner fetal sack. What close association these two souls had? If they would survive, then we are expecting to see inseparable duo!
The pregnancy became a threat to the mother. It crowded in the mother’s belly causing much discomfort. Doctors said that the twins had just 50% chance of survival, and that should raise eyebrows. Expected babies should have far much probability of surviving which is close to 100% but here comes a case where it is just half of what is expected. Even if you were the mother, you would be worried at that point.
Kate’s doctor advised her not to reveal her pregnancy status to anyone else because the twins probably won’t make it out alive. Kate didn’t buy the doctor’s idea. For the love of her yet to be born babies, there was no way she could give up on them that early. She delivered her two angels 28 weeks later after cate has stayed in the hospital day and night for five weeks.
The girls were delivered through cesarean. Everything looked just fine at first. But when the medical attendants saw the placenta, a worried silence engulfed the maternity room. It all remained silent as they were still contemplating how it all happened. Another miracle witnessed!
The two placentas were tightly braided together! It was unbelievable just how the tangled cords did not cause any harm to the babies. It was unbelievable!
The doctors termed it as a miracle, but that probably was not the end of everything.

The twins were so small and underweight since they have been born a bit earlier than the normal time. Fortunately, their health status was not compromised.
They were born just at the right time. Had they stayed in their mother’s womb any longer, then the twins wouldn’t have seen the daylight following the way the placentas were twisted together.

Surprisingly, the girls never needed much of the intensive care after the birth. They just spent few days with their mother in the hospital then allowed to go home and face the world. They were discharged much earlier than other babies delivered prematurely.

The twins, named Harper and Cleo, are both 10-years-old by now, and they spend their time close to each other just as had been predicted. The only thing which distinguishes them is their different personalities.
They survived one of the riskiest birth and had not experienced any problem since then. It is all about a miracle. Do you believe it?

The story which emerged from the two girls is something that is far from being ordinary. It has been an inspiration to many mothers who also find themselves in a similar situation. Maybe Kate’s unshakable positivity and determination contributed a lot to the outcome. It came out harmless in any way.
Share the story and make it go to the rest of the world. Many people desire for such inspiration to overcome their challenges.
