A blind dog and his furry best friend have been looking for a forever home ever since they got abandoned by their owner.
Roy is a blind border collie whose best friend is a fluffy pooch, also a border collie, who goes under the name Bess.
The two dogs were discovered tied up in a forest in the South Lakeland district in Cumbria, England, where they were abandoned by their owner according to the suspicions of RSPCA.
“The most important thing for this pair is that they are rehomed together. They’re extremely close and Roy relies heavily on Bess,” local RSPCA manager Christine Lowe revealed.
“Roy is blind in one eye and has seriously impaired vision in the other so he relies on Bess in many ways, she’s essentially his doggy guide dog!
“They are both lovely, friendly, happy dogs who deserve a home where they’ll get all of the affection they crave as they come into their senior years.”
As the rescuers revealed, they want the dogs to be adopted by someone kind who will let them stay together and be patient with Roy’s disability.
“We believe they’ve never lived in a domestic environment and are not house-trained and have lived outside most of their lives so we’re looking for new owners who are prepared to work with them or who have suitable outside accommodation for them,” Lowe added.
“They need a home where they can live out their days in comfort with someone who understands their unique needs.”
Hopefully, the dogs will soon find a loving owner and the forever home they deserve.
