In early September, Duane was hospitalized for severe chest pain. After staying for diagnosis, the 66-year-old bounty hunter revealed he’s suffering from pulmonary embolism, a blockage of an artery in the lung.

“I said, after Beth left, I’m not afraid to die… I take that back. I’m not afraid to, but I don’t want to,” the TV star admitted.

“Oh I was afraid to die. I said ‘Please let go of my heart, honey. Quit squeezing my heart.’”

In the 1-minute clip, Dr. Mehmet Oz told Chapman that he is a “ticking time bomb.”

“You’re not going to be here with the heart the way it is right now. Fear of death is normal,” he said.

“I’m surprised you don’t fear death when you’re chasing after convicts. But when you run away from doctor, that means you have to do your own doctoring.”

While the widower previously expressed that he’s “weary of doctors and hospitals,” he now has to try his best, for the sake of himself and his kids, to recover from the disease and a broken heart.
