According to Itai News, the Google car was just minding its own business while taking pictures of the area for the company’s Google Street View feature, as translated by SoraNews24. However, upon passing, the camera suddenly captured a perked up dog that seemed to be guarding a small boat.
We’re all familiar with Google Maps feature that allows users to virtually travel down nearly any street in the world. It’s no surprise, then, that Googles camera-equipped cars have been known to capture some unlikely, unusual, even hilarious photos while traveling the globe, snapping photos for their street view feature.
While traveling down a street in the Kumage district of Japan’s Kagoshima Prefecture, the Google camera car snapped a series of photos of one curious pup who happened to be outside with his owner when the car drove by.
What’s even funnier is that the man sitting on the other side of the boat was equally curious by the vehicle as well, but probably not as much as this brave little creature who looked ready to pounce.
You know what happens when a dog perks up after seeing an unknown moving object – especially after it piques its interest?
Yep, you guessed it right, the doggo gave chase, even though there was no way to outrun what it deemed to be a threat.
The dog is persistent, however, following the Google Street View car view for several shots.
The chase continued on until the Google Street View car reached a dead end.
Anyway, spying one of the Google Street View cameras, taxi driver Kyle Hesketh realized it was now or never, and plonked his arm out the window and made a little circle with his hand.
Google blurred out his face, but kept the circle in – so it’s still a win for Kyle, right?
He told LADbible: “Basically I play the ‘Circle Game’ game all the time. I was parked up one afternoon and saw that the Google Street Maps car was pulling in where I was parked.
“I thought, ‘Wonder if they will see this?’ So I did it and [the camera] picked it up.
“I play the game with my mates, brother, girlfriend, and dad all the time, to their annoyance. I took the opportunity when I saw him driving in.
“I did it in mid-October this year and kept checking to see if I would be on there, then my girlfriend rang me, and it had been put on.”
I think this means the game is on for whoever next spots a Google Street View camera, doesn’t it? Be they man or dog.
