A Las Vegas family went out of town, to California for a few days.
However, when they came back, they found that their dog is missing. Butters, the dog had dug a hole under the fence and escaped.
The owner, A. Vargas shared this incident later on the Facebook page, Love What Matters.
When Vargas’ sister went to check up on him, she knew something was wrong.
Butters tends to get anxious when his family is not around, however, the family had no idea that it would lead to this. They never expected that he would attempt to escape, probably to find his family.
They had recently moved to this new neighborhood and didn’t know the neighborhood well. So, when the neighbor tried to catch him, he scampered away.
The family came back home, the next day and started searching for their four-legged son. They drove around the town for hours, in hopes of at least catching a glimpse of him, but failed. They asked various local vets, regularly checked the pound, and stuck posters around the city, only to return empty-handed.
All hopes weren’t lost yet, they received a message from the local app about lost dogs. A dog that looked exactly like Butters was seen at 3:00 a.m. near the 215 freeway. The father immediately left and searched for Butters in that area, still, he was not found.
After the dad returned without Butters, it was mom’s turn to search.
She was driving around and decided to explore the dead-end of the street, something that she usually wouldn’t do. This effort, however, didn’t go to waste. Butters was lying on that street, in front of a house. As soon as Mom saw her, she called out to him, upon hearing her voice, the fog quickly bolted towards her.
After a long wait of a week and a half, butters was finally reunited with his family. However, Butters’ reunion with Dad was the epic one, which is shown in the video.
When Dad spotted Butters in the car with mom, he bolted towards him as if his life depended on it, and it probably did. Opening the door, the dad hugged his son and cried tears of joy.
