While the attack resulted in a permanently disfigured face, it didn’t stop Brodie from finding a loving home where he can finally feel safe.

After the pup’s story went viral, hundreds of people filed applications to adopt Brodie and the ones lucky enough to add him to their family were 23-year-old Brad Ames and 30-year-old Amanda Richter.

“I looked at his photos every day and even cried a few times. We felt drawn to him for some reason,” Richter said in an interview with Yahoo News.

“We met him, took him for a walk and hung out with him for a few hours and ended up bringing him home the same day because the rescue really felt we were a great fit.”

As the Canadian couple revealed, they adopted the pooch from Alberta’s Old MacDonald Kennels the same day they first saw him because everyone thought they were a perfect match.

Previously, Brodie was adopted by another family who returned him to the shelter in a few months due to the dog being very hyper.

As the young couple expressed, however, the pooch “just needed patience and someone to be consistent.”

“He’s definitely hyper but he is so intelligent. His brain is perfectly fine and he learns tricks within 10 minutes usually which tells me he is a smart boy,” Richter said.

Besides going for long walks in the park, the pooch now also enjoys his days playing with his dog sister, Rosie.
