Rocky Kanaka, who takes out rescued animals on adventures, shares videos of dogs enjoying their day out on his YouTube series called “Dog’s Day Out”.
Herschel, a German shepherd who had chained up his entire life in a backyard and was treated badly, is winning the Internet as the dog can be seen enjoying his day out in one of Kanaka’s videos.
“Chained up and neglected in a backyard for much of his life, his teeth are whittled down from constant gnawing on the chains that held him captive,” Kanaka wrote.
“Herschel, also called Bear, has been surrendered twice. Dogs chained up for long periods of time don’t learn the basic skills that those living in caring families learn. As a result, some inexperienced owners become frustrated and give up.”
To show the world that Herschel is not that scary, he took him out on an adventure. They went to the beach and Herschel’s reaction after seeing the ocean for the first time made everyone fall in love with him.
The video was posted with the caption: ‘You won’t believe this German shepherd rescue dogs amazing reaction when he sees the ocean for his very first time.
After being chained up for about 5 years and then sent to a shelter Rocky Kanaka from Save Our Shelter is now giving him a second chance on life.’
The Michelson Found Animals rescue received so many adoption applications after the video of Herschel went viral.
A woman named Kim has adopted him. And finally, Herschel has a loving family.
