Floyd The Majestic 190-Pound Mastiff Got Too Tired To Walk Back Down From A Hike And Had To Be Rescued


The worst thing that can happen on the hike to a mountain top is not being able to walk back down on your own.

It’s important to increase your strengths and abilities well. But let’s be honest here, it’s a hard thing to do if you’re a 190-pound mastiff.

This is how an adorable dog named Floyd faced the problem. Yet, despite being a big boy, Floyd is a good one too. He became too tired on his trip to the mountain top, a team of rescuers carried him down.

Concerned hikers noticed a dog and his human stuck on the Grandeur Peak trail in Salt Lake County, Utah for hours.

They got cell reception, and the caring passersby called 911. Salt Lake County Search and Rescue were sent to help them get off the mountain before it got too cold.

The team deals with dehydrated and hurt people, but on rare occasions, they rush to save exhausted pets too.

Floyd, feet got cut up from walking for a long period and exhaustion got the better of him. The 3-year-old pup was not in the condition of walking any further and needed assistance.

The rescue team reached to lend him a hand, or as many as he needed. The group of 10 men arrived, packaged the dog in a litter and carried him down.

While the dog’s weight is similar to an average person’s, his rescue operation was treated just like a human’s.

When the non-profit organization Salt Lake County Search and Rescue, which runs with the help of volunteers, posted the video of Floyd’s rescue on Facebook, it quickly went viral.

People praised the team for not leaving the dog behind and helping him in his time of need.
