Dogs are loyal, loving and wonderful creatures.
They love to show their owners how much they love and appreciate them.
Many people say dogs have only short lives because they don’t need to learn much about love – they are already experts when it comes to that subject.
It is heartbreaking to let go of these creatures when it’s time for them to leave. Pet owners know how painful it is to lose a furry companion.
But some people are just so cruel that they enjoy seeing animals in pain. Fortunately for this dog, a woman was just in time to rescue her.
Bella the Belgian shepherd was pulled from River Trent when a Good Samaritan noticed her drowning, the BBC News reported.
The woman quickly realized that the pooch was struggling in the water as a large rock was tied to the leash around Bella’s neck.
The Nottinghamshire Police wrote on Twitter: “A brave member of the public rescued a dog that was tied to a heavy rock and was drowning in the River Trent this morning.
“Officers are appealing for information from anyone who saw the incident involving the Belgian Shepherd, near Long Lane, Farndon, at around 8.45am today.”
A man and a woman were arrested ‘on suspicion of animal cruelty offences,’ BBC reported.
Bella is now recovering at a veterinary hospital.
PC Adam Pace said to the outlet: “Whilst the dog is still quite poorly she has been showing some encouraging signs by eating so hopefully she will be on the mend.”
