A six-year-old Golden Retriever is winning the Internet after a video of him rescuing a bird from drowning in a paddling pool posted online.
A Golden Retriever named Yago was caught on camera saving a bird from drowning in a paddling pool by his owner Mariana Corti.
Mariana spotted a pigeon struggling in the water in her back garden in Buenos Aires, Argentina through the window of her home.
That’s when her six-year-old Golden Retriever stepped in to help the bird. Yago grabbed the bird in its mouth and managed to pull the bird out of the water.
He left it on the grass after he rescued the bird from drowning in the paddling pool.
Mariana said: “I couldn’t have been prouder. When we woke up, we heard a flutter coming from the patio but when we looked out the window, we saw a pigeon was fighting for its life.”
“Yago was desperate to remove it and by slightly tipping the pool, he managed to reach its wing. Once he’d got it on the floor, he left it alone. When the bird was dry, it flew away.”
Mariana shared the heartwarming video online and it instantly went viral. The video received thousands of likes and comments.
Dogs are very protective of their owners and other animals. Here’s another video that shows a dog saving his owner after he pretends to drown.
One user commented on the video: ‘What a life saver..having a fur baby means.. loyalty, love & devotion!!’ while another user added: ‘Very heartwarming and what a special friendship.’
One user shared: ‘Our black golden/lab, Blue, used to “rescue” us when we tried to swim…would clamp his teeth on an arm and drag us to shore…not letting go until we stood on land… If you dived down to get away from him, he’d dive, too and nab you.’
