Dogs have been a faithful companion to humans ever since our ancestors were hunting mammoths and defending against saber-tooth tigers.
At no time in history has that collective bond ever been broken and nowadays, it’s even stronger than ever.
While a lot of our canine friends have been elevated to the status of toy dogs or social media attractions, a lot of these pooches still serve humans quite faithfully and effectively.
Watch the video of this dog helping his human friend make a sandwich.

Perhaps it’s not the same as what primitive dogs and humans used to do but this symbiotic relationship carries over into many aspects of modern life.
Sheepdogs are probably closest to the role that the dogs of our ancestors used to play.
But now there are still specialized dogs such as those in K-9 units and the service dogs who make life easier for disabled people. And they are extensively trained in the skills necessary for them to fulfill their duties.
The training is rigorous and just like any specialized training course, there are washouts.Dogs who are trained to perform a series of tasks require a combination of wit and capable bodies in order to perform their duties.
But when it comes to the home, most owners would be happy enough to get their dog to sit or fetch on command. You’d even be lucky if you can get your do to follow more complicated commands like getting the morning paper or your slippers.
One dog owner though has gone beyond even that by teaching his dog how to help him make a sandwich. And the impressive thing is, the dog is smart enough to follow the commands!
The video shows the owner laying down two slices of bread and giving consecutive commands for his dog to bring the ingredients, from the ham all the way to the ketchup and mustard.
And that included opening and closing the refrigerator door.
Of course, a sandwich wouldn’t be complete with the requisite can of beer which the dog also faithfully brought over! The owner rewards the dog with a slice of ham but with a performance like that, it’s clear that the pooch deserves a sandwich of his own!
Replaced!
