A loyal dog waited at one spot for four long years until his owners finally found him after he jumped out of their vehicle at a nearby gas station and got lost.
The loving dog, originally named BonBon, was finally reunited with his owners. But it appears the pooch, who locals have named Leo, has already grown a taste for a tough life on the road.
Bonbon’s story gained recognition when a video and photos of him were shared online.
It was Anuchit Uncharoen who saw the dog on the side of the road in the Mueang District in Thailand. The pooch, who appeared very thin and had a skin condition, was being fed by Saowalak Pinnuchawet, one of the locals.
When Uncharoen spoke to the woman, he found out that Bonbon, who local residents had called Leo, had been waiting at the same road-side spot for four long years.
According to reports, Ms. Pinnuchawet had already attempted to take the pooch home but he managed to escape after a few days and came back to the same spot. So she lets him run around free and brings him food.
Last month, someone contacted Mr. Unchareon asking about the dog he had shared on Facebook.
Believing his dog had been stolen or had passed away, Noi was so happy to be greeted by his happy BonBon.
Noi said that the pooch had jumped out of the vehicle when they stopped at a gas station four years ago. Despite their week-long efforts trying to find him, BonBon was nowhere to be found.
But despite their heartwarming reunion, it seemed BonBon was already happy in his new home and didn’t want to go back with his previous owner.
That’s why they have decided to leave him in the spot he now believes his home. Locals promised to feed him daily and Noi also vowed to visit him regularly.
