Newlyweds want their wedding day to go smoothly.
From clothes and venue to food and photographs, everything has to be perfect.
But a couple’s wedding didn’t go according to their plan because their dog refused to take the big day seriously.
When Charlie Hart and Rebecca Simpson tied the knot at Brown Mountain Beach Resort, taking photos of their big day seemed like a calming walk in the park.
But their cute dog Bernie didn’t want to follow their plans.
As the owners prepared to pose for lovely photos, their cute pooch ran past them and into the river.
But instead of waiting or freaking out, photographer Jillian Knight encouraged them to let Bernie do what he wants as she took photos of the owners’ reaction.
There was a point when they asked Bernie to sit so they could take a nice photo but the stubborn fella didn’t want to listen and just continued to play.
But as much as Bernie loves to play, he loves his owners more. So every once in a while he would go to them to check if they were enjoying themselves.
Simpson said that the photographer and the family were not the only ones having a good laugh. All 120 wedding guests watched the scene from afar and saw Bernie dashed into the water.
After the photoshoot, they headed for the reception where Bernie was showered with attention. He also received the honorable seat at the bride’s feet!
One Facebook user commented to the photoshoot: “Wonderful wedding photos. So much more alive than the posed kind. Animals can’t help but add life to everything!”
Another wrote: “I knew it had to be an English Bulldog. I love mine to the moon and back but she does exactly what she wants to do when she wants to do it. These photos are awesome!”
A third said: “What a beautiful wedding wouldn’t have been complete without the bulldog. What a ham!”
