An emotional dog was caught on camera whining out loud while watching the scene in The Lion King where Mufasa passes away.
Luna the pit bull watched the heartbreaking movie together with her owners, Hannah Huddleston and Josh Myers.
While the couple admitted everything went normal up to the tragic scene, Luna completely changed her attitude after Mufasa, the father of Simba, fell to his death.
As Simba wailed and attempted to revive his dead father in the movie, Luna was seen changing positions nervously while whining out loud.
Perhaps Luna’s reaction was based on the fact that she has never had a real father figure in her life. The pup was born at a local shelter in a litter of 12. Fortunately, her brothers and sisters, as well as her mother, were adopted by kind people who still bring the family together at times.
As National Geographic explained, dogs can distinguish what’s going on while watching TV and react accordingly.

“Domestic dogs can perceive images on television similarly to the way we do, and they are intelligent enough to recognize onscreen images of animals as they would in real life—even animals they’ve never seen before—and to recognize TV dog sounds, like barking,” National Geographic article reads.
As a veterinary behaviorist of Massachusetts’ Tufts University explained, however, dogs’ eyes are able of registering images much quicker than humans do. For them to be able to enjoy a movie as we do, they need to watch it on newer television sets that show more frames per second than their older alternatives.
Additionally, dogs have dichromatic vision, unlike humans who have trichromatic vision. While we can see the full range of colors, our furry buddies are limited to the range of two main colors, blue and yellow.
