In an unending series of the internet trends, the recent “What The Fluff” challenge has been done unlimited times but the one you will see in the video below will definitely melt your heart.
To be honest, the challenge here isn’t quite like the viral, ongoing one but is undoubtedly more special and more heartwarming!
When the military owner of the Golden Retriever Zephyr returned home after 9 months, he and his family decided to surprise their dog by incorporating their own version of the famous “What The Fluff” challenge.
Contrary to the original challenge, a man went behind a large piece of cloth as the dog watched him do so and when the cloth was dropped, it was not the man but Kevin – Zephyr’s owner – who appeared from behind it.
And that’s when the dog lost it! Unable to contain his joy, Zephyr sprinted through the room, jumped onto him and tried to hug him with its paws.
The feeling was certainly mutual as the soldier crouched down to cuddle Zephyr and joyfully play with his pet friend.
The heartfelt reunion was filmed in Livermore, California, by Lisa Lord.
“My son, Private 1st Class Kevin arrived home after nine months in Fort Bragg where he had been training for the Special Forces Qualification course,” Lisa said.
“His leave was granted to come home to see family and friends before he would return back to his base to continue the 18-month long intense training hoping to become a Green Beret serving our country.
“His younger brother Jacob and I thought it would be fun to do the #WhatTheFluffChallenge.
“While we were all very excited and emotional to have him at home, no one was happier than our 4-year-old Golden Retriever, Zephyr, and none of us anticipated Z’s reaction.”
