Dolly Rebecca Parton, 75, is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actress, author, businesswoman, and humanitarian, known mostly for her work in country music.
After being successful as a songwriter for others, Dolly made her album debut in 1967 with Hello, I’m Dolly, which led to success during the rest of the 1960s before her sales and chart peak came through the 1970s and continued into the 1980s.
Dolly is one of the most-honored female country performers of all time. The Record Industry Association of America has certified 25 of her single or album releases as either Gold Record, Platinum Record, or Multi-Platinum Record.
And on Sunday, the singer shared a photo on her Instagram account and wished everybody a very happy 4th of July.
She posted a photo in a glamorous stars and stripes outfit, holding an old-fashioned microphone. Behind her is an American flag as well. The photo is a blast of red, white, and blue, patriotism, the stars and stripes, and The Queen of Country herself.
She captioned her absolutely iconic photo with: “Have a happy and safe #4thofJuly ❤️ ”
One commenter reacted by saying: “This is the only 4th of July content I’m interested in.”
In November 2003, Dolly released her album “For God and Country.” It is believed to be the songwriter’s reflection to deal with the horrific September 11, 2001 incident.
The album includes famous patriotic songs as well as originals. The classic outfit Dolly flaunt on Instagram is the same one she wore for the album’s cover photo.
Her song “Color Me America” is the perfect melody to play for Independence Day. It is about being proud of where you’re from, but also standing up for diversity, inclusion, and justice.
Her song includes lyrics like: “I am red and white and blue, these are colors that ring true, to all I am and feel and love and do, I stand proud and brave and tall, I want justice for us all, so color me America, red, white and blue.”
Dolly is known for constantly acknowledging those who have fought for and those who continue to fight for our independence.
“Don’t forget to take a moment to remember the men and women currently serving in our armed forces and those that have served in the past. Let them know how thankful you are for their sacrifice,” she has told her fans through her YouTube channel.
Dolly has also been selected to perform on the Fourth of July over the years. In 2003, she was invited to be a part of the Capital concert on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., and do a salute to the troops stationed in the Middle East.
The actress has a reputation as one of the most wholesome celebrities.
The superstar had also revealed this in an interview with WSJ. Magazine that she doesn’t wear sweats at home and keeps her makeup on at night in case of an emergency.
So instead of dressing in sweats, she reveals that she has “house clothes” that contain “a little dress-type teddy, a long teddy, then I have a little jacket or shirt to match if I get cold.”
And as for wearing her makeup at night, she claimed that: “I never know if there’s going to be an earthquake or a tornado or a storm and I’m going to have to go out in the middle of the night!”
She even joked: “I don’t like to go home and just tear down completely because my poor husband has to look at me… And in the morning when I get up, I start all over again, put on my makeup, and then touch it up through the day.”
