Boris Johnson has declared support for his aide Dominic Cummings after he has been found by the press breaking quarantine lockdown rules while he had caught the coronavirus.
Boris Johnson has allegedly told those closest to him that ‘It’s not like he was visiting a lover.’ This has been brewing upset from the public as well as the public arena as a Downing Street cabinet member has himself violated the very rules that the government has been touting for all to follow and adhere, as matters of discrepancies between words and actions.
Steve Baker, the High Wycombe MP, accused the senior aide of ‘suiting himself with a long drive, presumably with stops, to get help during his illness’, while other mums and dads were ‘going without the childcare provided by their parents.
Dominic Cummings must go before he does any more harm to the UK, the Government, the Prime Minister, our institutions or the Conservative Party.
Time is up. It is time for Dom to resign so Boris can govern within the conventions and norms which will see us through.’ Meanwhile, Labour’s shadow policing minister Sarah Jones demanded ‘answer questions about what happened, what he knew and what he is going to do about it’.
The three claims of Mr Cummings’ sightings date back as far as Easter Sunday, on a faraway town from his family ranch in Durham, where supposedly he should have been self-isolating with his family.
The sighting is a direct contradiction to the statements he have made in the past about his track record, as he has said he have stayed put the whole time during this period.
The second sighting dates a little bit after Aril 19, after his return to work in Westminster. The third incident, photographed by the press, has culminated in a public outcry for his resignation, as several polls find that he has been the causation of the breach of trust in the public opinion on Boris Johnson’s government.
Boris Johnson has been reported to give aides Cummings ‘the benefit of the doubt. Breaking lockdown to see your mistress is very different from doing everything to protect your toddler,’ said one.
The PM told friends: ‘Dominic acted within the guidance and was simply caring for his family. I now consider the matter closed. It’s not like he was visiting a lover,’ suggesting Mr Cummings was not poised to suffer the same fate as Sage scientist Prof Neil Ferguson.
