Dominic West promised his wife Catherine FitzGerald that he will never speak to, see or work with Lily James to save their ten-year marriage.
Catherine, 49, was left humiliated when photos of her husband frolicking with the Downton Abbey actress in Rome went viral.
But the 51-year-old actor was finally forgiven for the infamous photos that showed him cavorting with 32-year-old Lily.
The couple and their children went to Lamu, Kenya to rekindle their marriage and enjoy a luxury family trip.
An onlooker reportedly told The Sun: “Their (Catherine and Dominic’s) problems are clearly behind the, however awkward or embarrassing it must have been.
“They’re clearly sorted and together with their kids and, from the body language, have forgotten all about whatever went on with Lily.”
The onlooker added: “What is a shame is she seems to have got all the flak for it, while Dominic walked away totally unscathed. No wonder people said he looked smug.”
A friend of the couple also said, as per Daily Mail: “The idea of remarrying was talked about. Nothing was decided, or has been yet, but Catherine brought up the idea and it was much discussed. It shows how far things have come since those photographs.”
The trip to Lamu had been suggested by Ms. Tilbury and it appears to have been paid off.
After the pain caused by Dominic’s frolicking with Lily last year, it seems that Catherine realized that life was better with her husband than without. But there are a few strict rules to guide Domonic’s behavior in the future.
“He has promised never to sea, speak or work with Lily again,” the friend said.
