Donald Trump has opened up about his parenting methods as he shared his secret rules in an interview with a young business heiress.
Speaking to 11-year-old Clover Weitsman, the daughter of a multimillionaire scrap metal businessman Adam Weitsman, the former president told the young girl what his main rules were during the time he was raising his children.
“Ok, are you ready? This is good,” Trump told Clover after she asked him what his parenting advice to her dad would be.
“I have five children. From the day that they were old enough to speak, I said no drugs, no alcohol, no cigarettes. And I told them all the time.”
The 45th President went on to praise the young girl’s father and call him a “strong and smart” businessman who “makes good money.”
Following the interview, which was held aboard the Weitsman family’s private jet, Adam explained why his daughter had a chat with the right-wing leader.
“Most people know I don’t follow politicians much, and I never comment when other people share their political opinions. But I do want my daughter, Clover, to know what’s going on in the world and to pay attention to decisions that are made and the people who make them,” the scrap metal mogul said.
“As part of her homeschooling, she’s interviewing various leaders of both parties to find out what’s really going on in the world – and she’s starting at the highest level of government.”
As Adam pointed out, the interview was not about politics, whereas it is important to understand all points of view.
“I’m grateful that former President Donald Trump agreed to meet with Clover today and answer pressing questions that are on the minds of many people in her age group,” the businessman added.
“This is not about politics, but about understanding all viewpoints. I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am of her daughter for her questions and composure talking with a world leader.”
