Former President Donald Trump appeared in his first interview with a TV network since leaving the White House to warn of America’s alleged downfall.
Speaking to Sean Hannity of Fox News, the 45th US President insisted that the crisis at the southern border is dire and that it might “destroy our country.”
Blasting President Biden and accusing him of being responsible for the current situation, Trump told the TV network that everything was in the right place when he left and that all that Biden had to do was nothing.
Kicking off the interview, the Hannity host suggested Trump was being vilified over his child separation policy while Biden is being given a pass despite the border getting overloaded with “cages overflowing with kids in the middle of a pandemic with a high positivity of covid.”
He said: “I would argue if it was a daycare center people you’d be shut down and charged with child abuse.”
Responding to the conservative commentator, Trump raged:
“They’re playing it down as much as they can play it down. It’s a horrible situation, could destroy our country.
“People are pouring in. But you’ll see something as the months go by like you’ve never seen before. Already it’s like you’ve never seen before.”
He added: “There’s never been anything like what’s happened at our border. People are coming in by the tens of thousands. They’re walking in. They — we had — all they had to do was leave it alone.”
