With the advanced technology at hand, it’s no surprise that businesses are coming up with innovative ways to scare or prank people.
In this particular story, a Washington D.C. museum took their approach to marine education to a whole new level.
One man, who was visiting the museum, approached what looked like an aquarium. Above the glass, there was a sign saying: “Touch at your own risk.” The guy couldn’t resist showing how brave he was, so he went and repeatedly tapped on the glass. Little did he know that a charging shark is coming right at him.

The interactive display looked harmless in the beginning, so the guy kept on tapping on the glass with great anticipation. Soon, a big shark came charging right at him, and the man got so surprised that he got knocked off his feet and fell on the ground. There, a frightened and shocked look took over his face.
Luckily, the whole scene was recorded and is now gaining popularity online. While the man’s reaction sure is funny, I think it’s safe to say that we would all get scared if we didn’t know what’s going to follow.

At this point, it’s also worth mentioning some statistics about shark attacks. While many people are terrified of sharks, especially after watching Jaws, the number of their attacks is reasonably low. In the year 2016, there were around 150 reported shark attacks worldwide. Out of these, only 84 cases were proven unprovoked by humans.
While the statistics aren’t bad at all compared to other accidents, there’s something about sharks that gives us the creeps. After all, they’re the bosses of the sea, and we’re only its visitors.
