The wait is finally over and your quarter pounder will now be meatier than ever before.
McDonald’s has decided to relaunch the double quarter pounders at all the branches across The UK and Ireland on 7th August. But there is a catch. They are only available for seven weeks or 49 days.
The burger is priced at £4.29 and £5.79 as a medium meal with chips and a drink. Still it seems to be a better alternative than buying two quarter pounders for £6.98 and having to stack it to enjoy a double.
The announcement comes over a delicious week as earlier McDonald’s had announced the launch of the new Spicy Mcnuggets for which fans had been seen queuing outside one of the outlets.
These new items were available at a Manchester outlet exclusively for a period of one hour to try before going on sale for the general public.
The launch was teased earlier by YouTube gamers, Tobjizzle and MiniMinter of The SideMen gaming collective to their fans on Thursday but not much was revealed about the location.
At 12:30 pm today, it was finally released and the customers had around two hours to line up for the tasty new treat at the pre-determined outlet. Around 600 nuggets were distributed among those queued for free of charge.
Similar to the double quarter pounder, the Spicy Mcnuggets will be released on 7th August and will be available for sale for 7 weeks.
The special recipe had been derived from ones that have been previously tried in Asia and USA. These delicacies are permanently available in Australia. A new Tabasco-based spicy tomato dip is also planned to be released with the nuggets in the usual boxes for six, nine or twenty
Spicy Mcnuggets will be priced at £3.19 for 6, £3.49 for 9, or £4.99 for 20 in the UK and Ireland.
Although available only for 49 days, fans of McDonald’s are already excited to try the new additions to the menu with renewed vigour and expectations. Many are looking forward to it.
