The mysterious smash and grab incidents in Los Angeles continue to occur with the latest incident targeting both Home Depot and Bottega Veneta stores on Black Friday.
Just earlier this week, authorities sent out a word regarding how they planned on cracking down on the dozens of armed robbery gangs and those criminals involved in flash-mob-style looting incidents. But before they could even get close to doing just that, numerous other incidents have rocked California with plenty of high-end stores being targeted.
On Black Friday, two such incidents rocked citizens when news broke about how Home Depot and Luxury Designer store Bottega Veneta were reportedly targeted. Moreover, authorities stated how they feared that the tools stolen from Home Depot could potentially be used in a number of robberies in the future.
The thieves took whatever they could grab their hands on and that includes sledgehammers, crowbars, mallets, and more.
While police are yet to reveal major clues about the armed robbers involved, they did go on to speak about how the potential suspects were aged between 15 to 20. They stormed Home Depot at about 8:30 pm, stole tools, and made a swift getaway in vehicles that happened to be waiting outside for them, as stated by reports from Fox News.
LA County Sheriff stated how an entire section of hammers was missing from the Home Depot store, striking concern amongst many.
Also on Friday, another similar group of masked robbers attacked a Bottega Veneta store that was located in Beverly Grove, Los Angeles. The robbers entered by pepper spraying the security guard and others who tried to stop them from stealing. Therefore, they managed to steal all the high-end merchandise that they could grab a hold of in the quickest of time.
The LAPD is planning on deploying extra resources at some of these higher-end locations in an attempt to prevent such actions from taking place.
