A fuming driver returned to his vehicle only to find that someone smashed his window to save his daughter’s toy pooch.
A Facebook post described the driver’s anger when they returned to find the vehicle’s window had been smashed to pieces during the recent heatwave.
“I returned to my car after leaving it for 20 minutes to do some shopping to find someone has smashed the back window in as they thought my daughter’s plush toy dog was a real dog trapped in the heat.”
“How can you be this stupid?” he added. “Shame on you.”
The toy, a Perfect Petzzz dog, looks like a real dog. It even breathes mechanically when switched on.
But most people who replied to the driver’s post sided with the stranger, saying ‘it is better to be safe than sorry.’
One Facebook user wrote: “To be honest I would have done the same thing, that toy dog looks very realistic and would have been an easy mistake to make, and as plenty of other people have said it’s better to be safe than sorry I would rather have had your smashed window on my conscience than your dead dog.”
Another said: “It really does look real!!! Would’ve done the same. Don’t bring realistic dolls or pets in the car in this hot weather! People see peril and just want to help.”
A third wrote: “I feel for you but that’s probably the worst toy to leave in the car with how hot it’s been.”
Someone else commented: “Why would you leave such a lifelike toy in a car visible to passers by, and THEN moan when your window gets stoved in.”
