21-year-old Daniel James Knuth will walk free after pleading guilty to 35 child sex offenses.
The pedophile dwarf tricked young girls into sending him nudes by using a fake social media account.
Knuth appeared at Townsville District Court where he was sentenced to 4 years in prison but a judge handed him a suspended jail sentence.
According to a court spokesperson, the sentence will be operational for 5 years and will also involve 3 years probation.
Knuth, a son of an MP, pleaded guilty to 35 child sex offenses and was facing up to 15 years in prison. Charges included using a carriage service for child exploitation material, possession of child exploitation material, and grooming a minor.
He appeared with a serious face when he arrived at court with his father, MP Shane Knuth.
The 21-year-old admitted to using a fake social media account to trick girls into sending him naked photos as no one would reply to him using his real photo.
Knuth engaged in sexually explicit conversations with more than 25 young girls between 2016 and 2017, according to Townsville Bulletin.
During the initial sentencing hearing in December, his defense barrister said jail would be a ‘very difficult’ environment for him because of his size.
The lawyer added that Knuth had undergone 17 surgeries to fix bone deformities.
Judge Greg Lynham said he would send Knuth to prison as he had never seen such criminal behavior with so many victims.
However, he was held off sentencing Knuth until the court had a full understanding of the vulnerabilities of individuals with dwarfism face in jail.
Judge Lynham told the court: “They can accommodate (some) sorts of conditions quite well but we have unique features here that I’m not sure whether the Townsville Correctional Centre has been confronted with before.”
