Actor Dwayne Johnson surprised a navy veteran fan by giving his own personal custom truck.
Dwayne shared a heartwarming video where he showed fans how he surprised Oscar Rodriguez, a navy veteran, with his own”personal custom truck” after hearing his heartwarming story.
“l also wanted to do something BIG… something MASSIVE… something UNFORGETTABLE for one fan,” he said.
Dwayne’s original idea was to give away the Porche Taycan that he drove in his most recent movie, the Red Notice.
“So, we reached out to Porsche, but they said no,” he revealed. “But I still said, yes, I’ll do one better. I’ll give away my personal custom truck as a gift. My baby.”
“I gathered as much information as I could about everyone in the audience and ultimately, Oscar’s story moved me,” he said. “Takes care of his 75-year-old mom. Personal trainer, Leader at his church, provides support and meal for women victimized by domestic violence.”
“Proud & humbled Navy veteran. A kind human being. Oscar said it right, just before he drove away it’s just love. That all it is, brother. Just love.”
“Go enjoy your new truck dude and Merry Christmas to you and your family!”
Before it happened, Dwayne surprised Rodriguez at a movie theater screening of Red Notice.
“Your story really moved me because I hear that you’re a personal trainer, you’re always keeping it positive and motivational and optimistic,” Johnson told Rodriguez in front of moviegoers.
“I’m just speechless,” Rodriguez replied. “I’m so glad to meet you, I feel so encouraged right now, so uplifted.”
“I’m encouraged by your motivation,” the navy veteran told Dwayne. “I follow you on Instagram, I listen to your words. You inspire me. And yeah, let’s do it. Let’s change the world, one person, at a time.”
In the video, the actor is seen giving Rodriguez a card explaining that the truck was now his. Overcome with emotion, Rodriguez dropped to the floor and began to cry.
“What the heck is happening?” Rodriguez said, before giving Dwayne a hug.
Rodriguez also reflected on the big moment on his Instagram account by posting a photo of himself and his brand new truck.
“I have no words to express how blessed and grateful I am” Rodriguez posted. “Again no words only scripture.”
“With my whole heart, with my whole life, and with my innermost being, I bow in wonder and love before you, the holy God!” he added. “Yahweh, you are my soul’s celebration. How could I ever forget the miracles of kindness you’ve done for me?” Psalms 103:1-2 TPT.”
