A mother was left feeling confused after she was ordered to stop dying her daughter’s hair purple if she wanted to receive an invite for a birthday party.
Posting her experience on Reddit, the baffled mother spoke about how she was beyond stunned when her daughter’s friend’s mother called her up to say this.
“I’ve been coloring my daughter’s hair purple for a number of years now. And we all love their unique and funky hair color. In fact, I do it for both of my girls and we’ve never had any sort of problem, whatsoever,” she began to explain.
But she was stunned when her own daughter’s close friend’s mother told her that the child wouldn’t be receiving a birthday party invite if she didn’t dye her hair in a normal tone.
Surprisingly, the birthday happened to fall on the same day as Halloween but that again made no difference as the mother says that she was still ordered to carry on with the instructions because the host felt that the color attracted attention.
Thankfully, the girls did receive the birthday invite but the order was still in place and the mother was confused regarding how to go about the bizarre situation as she’s never faced anything like it.
“You need to revert your daughter’s locks back to a normal color. We don’t want it garnering unwanted attention at the event,” the host explained.
The mother tried to be polite and requested the host about how the girls love their hair and didn’t want to change it. Moreover, she explained how their daughters were willing to skip the photo session or not be included if the host was so worried about them stealing the limelight with their hair.
But again, the host refused and simply said if they failed to follow the order, they couldn’t come.
On that note, the mother opted to skip the party as a whole and throw her own little Halloween-themed event at home that she and her daughters enjoyed.
