A 28-year-old Atlanta woman has appealed guilty for the death of a 3-year-old boy.
As per the latest report provided by the Attorney Office of Fulton, it is probably one of the most heinous crimes ever to be committed.
The 28-year-old woman identified as LA Shirley Morris has been asked to serve life imprisonment.
As per the recent statement of the prosecutors, Morris killed the boy with a baseball bat to punish him as he was eating a cupcake.
It is worthwhile here to note that the boy’s dead body was discovered in a home that is infested with roach. He also has contusions on the lower body, head, and arms.
In their original statement, Morris as well her sister had narrated to the cops that Kejuan while eating the cupcake choked on it.
However, when a detailed autopsy was conducted, it came to the fore that the little boy expired when hit by a blunt instrument.
Morris’s sister has been charged with aggravated assault, murder, and cruelty to children and not intervening in the violence.
Note that her charges are still pending. It is interesting here to mention that the 3-year-old boy named Kejuan was in the care of the Georgia Division of Family and Child Services in the year 2017.
It was because his mother was charged and arrested for depicting reckless conduct.
His mother Mason also has a history of domestic abuse. This is the main reason for her arrest. If records are to be believed, she had also requested guardianship of Kejuan.
The boy’s mother had herself requested a temporary guardianship under the supervision of Morris’s sister. Kejuan also lived in poor conditions and investigators thus feel that these conditions are somewhat responsible for the fury of a crime he faced.
