Ed Sheeran’s amazing success in the music industry has been recorded by his father John in never-before-seen snaps.
His journey to popularity from a cute red-haired boy to a tattooed famous singer is shown through memorabilia and photos set to open in their hometown of Ipswich.
The 28-year-old singer has become one of the UK’s biggest music stars since he rose to fame in 2011.
In the exhibition, the Suffolk-born singer’s incredible body with tattoos took center stage in a still got from the video for his hit single Shape Of You.
With his beloved guitar, Ed’s idyllic childhood is also displayed through numerous sculptures and photographs, including one that shows him as a cute red-haired toddler.
The exhibition was set up to coincide with the singer’s return to his hometown for the final days of his Divide tour.
It was in 2011 when Ed rose to fame with his debut album Plus (+), featuring the singles The A team and Lego House. He won the BRIT Award for Best Male Solo Artist and also Best Breakthrough Act.
The singer released Multiply (x) in 2014 with the songs Thinking Out Loud, Sing and Don’t along with Photograph which was released in 2015.
Ed’s highly-anticipated third-album Divide (÷) was launched in 2017. He then released No. 6 Collaborations Project which saw him duet with other big stars DJ Khalid, Stormzy and Justin Bieber.
In total, Ed has won five BRIT Awards, two MTV VMAs, and four Grammys. His latest tour was also the highest grossing of all time after it surpassed U2’s 360 tour!
When asked about the lyrics on his 50 Cent and Eminem collaboration Remember the Name, which sing: “Watch how the lyrics in the songs might get twisted / My wife wears red, but looks better without the lipstick,” Ed said: “It was actually before me and Cherry got married and I knew that we’d be married by the point that the song came out.
“[I thought] Someone’s gonna hear that and be like, “Oh, they’re married!” I didn’t know how that would be construed, but obviously it’s already come out.”
