Ed Sheeran’s record-setting 255-day long tour is set to end in the twenty-eight-year-olds’s hometown, Ipswich.
The singer has played in forty-three countries, and will be performing for 160,000 people in Ipswich’s Chantry Park.
A massive stage has been set up along with two huge banks of seating on both sides of the planned standing area.
In the pictures, the stage seems to be overshadowing its neighborhood, which is only separated from the nearby residential area by a narrow line of trees.
However, for those who are not fans of the singer, have to listen to him singing his songs on their Friday night dinner.
It is highly unlikely that there would be ill towards Sheeran who will return home for four days. This will also offer a huge boost to the town’s economy.
Ipswich has already started earning from the event, as Ed Sheeran: Made In Suffolk exhibition is already running in Wolsey Theatre.
The exhibition consists of portraits and photography of the singer, along with collection of his personal items from his school days to his international stardom.
The exhibition contains a copy of the first lyrics written by him and a school certificate calling him ‘most likely to be famous’. Even an Ed Sheeran pop-up store was opened recently where fans have been queuing up to buy exclusive merchandise.
Ed Sheeran’s Divide tour started in Turin, Italy on 16th March 2017 and since then, has created attendance and revenue records.
The tour has already beaten U2’s 360° tour, grossing a massive £607 million. By the end of the tour, more than 8.5 million fans would have seen Ed play, breaking the Irish rock veteran’s figures of 7.3 million.
The tour has not been sailing smoothly throughout, as Ed had to cancel five Asian dates and reschedule 4 after suffering fracture in arm in a bike accident.
