A Blood clot is a jelly-like substance, and it is the final product of hemostasis.
It is formed due to coagulation of blood, and its formation is very necessary for stopping continuous blood flow in case of damage to any blood vessel.
However, in some cases, blood begins to coagulate even when it is not required. This results in discontinuous blood flow resulting in strokes.
The good part is that human body begins showing the signs of clotting in advance, giving you the plenty of time to get the clot removed.

- Usually, clotting takes place in legs
Legs are the most common body part that is most vulnerable to the formation of clots. If you notice swelling or tenderness in your legs, then it is probable that it is due to clotting.
- Discoloration of legs
If your legs are getting warm, tender and discolored, then it is due to clotting of blood in legs. Also, raising your legs can be quite painful for calves in case of a blood clot.
- A Blood clot in Heart
If there is a blood clot in your heart, then you might feel difficulty in breathing and uncharacteristic pressure on your chest.
- Clotting in Abdomen
Vomiting and extreme pain in the abdomen region are two of the symptoms of a clot in Abdomen. If there is a clot in the blood vessel which supplies blood to your intestine, then you might have to endure nausea abdominal pain and blood in stools. This condition is called Mesenteric Ischemia.
- Inflammation in veins
This condition is called Phlebitis, in this condition, many abnormal blood clots are formed and that part of skin becomes swollen, tender and red. Blood clots can also form a blue lump in the affected vein.
- A Clot in the Retinal Artery
If blood flow in the retinal artery is blocked by a clot then it may cause partial or complete blindness. Clots in the cerebral artery can also cause vertigo, dizziness, and difficulty in standing/walking.
- Clot in Brain
Clotting of an artery in the brain is characterized by loss of speech and vision, weakness, paralysis of one side of the body. These conditions require urgent attention as they are the symptoms of Brain Stroke.
- Clot in Lungs
Extreme chest pain, sweating, fever, racing heart and blood coughing then these are the symptoms of Clot in Lungs.
