Tinney Davidson, a British Columbia resident, never failed to wave from her window to the students of the Highland Secondary School.
Davidson, who first moved to the area in 2007 with her husband, has been waving to the students for the last 12 years.
“I just liked the look of the children and they all looked in and I thought, ‘If they’re looking in, I’ll wave to them,’ and that’s how it started,” she told CBC in 2014.
Davidson’s husband Ken passed away a few years back but the grieving woman continued her routine to wave to each student from her window.
In 2016, the students decided to surprise her and showed up with cookies and cards on Valentine’s Day.
She told CBC: “I was shocked. They kept coming and coming and I just could not believe what I was seeing.”
Davidson is now moving to an assisted living facility and the students once again decided to surprise her.
On April 25, 2019, more than 400 students showed up at her house with the signs that read, “We Love You” and “Thanks 4 Being Awesome” to say goodbye to their favourite lady.
“I was shocked again that’s there are so many kids that want to say goodbye to me,” Davidson told CBC.
