Florida elementary school teacher, 27, disguised himself as a babysitter on a website for caregivers.
Xavier Alexander is originally from Palm Beach, being arrested with convictions of solicitation of a minor and traveling to meet one.
His first court appearance is scheduled to be on Friday Morning, sources reveal information that Alexander is a fourth-grade teacher who has been using Care.com, the babysitting site, in order to offer “childcare services,” His real intentions were caught red-handed, causing him to be thrown into jail.
The fourth grade teacher was recently hired to become a full-time teacher about six months ago, right after he graduated Palm Beach State College.
According to officials, police said that they were co-operating with the on-going investigation of Alexander’s case.
The District Alexander taught at had shocking reactions, appalled that he would do such a thing while taking action upon his position. The statement they released reads: “He will not be returning ot the School District as a teacher, or in any other capacity, pending the outcome of the criminal investigation.”
As it continues, it clearly states that the case he is convicted of did not involve other students, informing the parents of the students who were in his class.
Not only are police co-operating to close the case in its entirety, the district also launched its own team to look into what had happened.
Miami Herald reports that Alexander has been working with children for over a decade including youth ministries, kids’ clubs, and schools.
His bond is currently set at $1 million dollars.
He also is not able to possess or use any electronic devices, gain access to the Internet, possess any firearms, contact the victim, their family, witnesses, or any minors, and cannot have contact with institutions such as schools and daycares as a consequence for his actions.
In terms of the two-year-old he had traveled to, there is no clear way of knowing how he got in contact with the child.
