With people in lockdown, online “challenges” have become a popular way to pass the time.

But actor/activist Leonardo DiCaprio decided to put a spin on it by cooking up the “All In” challenge. He offered fans who donate to charities the chance to have a walk-on role in Killers Of The Flower Moon, his upcoming film.

DiCaprio then issued the challenge to Ellen DeGeneres who decide to step up and donated $1 million to coronavirus relief efforts as well as promising one lucky fan the chance to co-host on her hit talk show.

Even donating as little as $25 will put one in the running.

The lucky fan co-host will be privy to all the backstage goings-on of the show as well as the intro monologue and celebrity interviews.

The charities Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry, and America’s Food Fund will be receiving a significant sum from DeGeneres adding that she has been “devastated” by how hard people have been affected by the pandemic.

“Finally, I have been so devastated by seeing all the people lined up waiting for food. Every time I see those cars and those people, I cry,” she wrote. “I can’t imagine what it’s like to be sitting for hours and hours waiting to get food and hoping there’s even going to be any left by the time you get there.

“It’s heartbreaking and it’s overwhelming. I’ve already given to some of my favorite charities, including Direct Relief because so many people need money, but today Portia and I are personally donating $1 million to Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry and America’s Food Fund.

“I usually don’t talk about my personal donations. It’s something I keep private, but I’m really hoping that this inspires anyone that’s in a position to help because there’s a lot of need out there.”

Just like what DiCaprio did, DeGeneres then challenged two celebs at the end of the video and nominated Justin Timberlake and Laura Dern to take up the challenge.

It all started on April 1 when DiCaprio offered one lucky (and charitable) fan the prize of a lifetime. The charity managed to raise more than $13 million to help those in need during the pandemic.

During his Instagram video with co-star Robert De Niro, DiCaprio said: “We recently launched #AmericasFoodFund to help make sure every family in need gets access to food at this critical time.

“Our most vulnerable communities need our support now more than ever. That’s why we’re asking you to help us with the #AllinChallenge.”

“If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to be able to work with the great @martinscorsese_, Robert De Niro and myself, this is your chance.

“Robert and I are going to be starring in a new movie called Killers of the Flower Moon, directed by Martin Scorsese. We want to offer you a walk-on role, the opportunity to spend the day on the set with the three of us, and attend the premiere.”
