The great music icon Elton John has arisen to his friend Ellen DeGeneres’ defense posterior the talk show host was thronged with progressive disapproval for sitting next to the former President George W.
Bush at an NFL game.
Rather than giving up to the mob, DeGeneres guarded her friendship with Bush and highlighted the obvious – we must be kind to others, even if they happened to possess different political views.
The “Rocket Man” singer said that he admires Ellen for standing up and stating what she did.
John allied off DeGeneres’ message of tolerance and even provided praise for Mr. George Bush and President Donald Trump for charitable efforts talking HIV/AIDS all over the world.
John claimed, “Unfortunately, what our democracy has become now is that it’s not OK to have different opinions than yours and that is not healthy.”
He added, “George Bush has made a lot of mistakes. I made a lot of mistakes. Ellen DeGeneres has made a lot of mistakes.”
He further stated that people require to come together. And that they need to respect others’ views on life except when its heresy, and that he didn’t think Bush was “that kind of guy”.
Posterior the controversy of just sitting next to the former president and smiling, DeGeneres looked after herself and her friendship with Bush to the live audience and viewers.
She said, “Here’s the thing – I’m friends with George Bush. In fact, I’m friends with a lot of people who don’t share the same beliefs that I have. We are all different and I think we’ve forgotten that that’s okay, that we’re all different.”
Freddy Ford, Bush’s spokesman, later stated, “President and Mrs. Bush really enjoyed being with Ellen and Portia and appreciated Ellen’s comments about respecting one another. They respect her.”
