Elton John Pledged To Donate $1 Million Towards The Bushfire Crisis Relief


Sir Elton John has been heavily praised by his fans after pledging a $1 million donation towards the relief from the Australian bushfire crisis.

As the knighted English singer and songwriter expressed in an emotional speech during his Sydney concert, “there are people out there who have lost their lives trying to save homes.”

He also pledged to financially support those affected by the crisis by donating AUD $1 million to the cause.

“You should all be in awe of the work that the firefighters are doing. There are people out there who have lost their lives trying to save homes,” the 72-year-old told the audience.

“There are people who have lost their lives and their homes. And last is the plight of the animals and loss of their habitat that, frankly, is on a biblical scale and heartbreaking. Therefore, tonight I will be pledging $1 million to support the bushfire relief efforts.”

Following ecstatic cheering and applause from the crowds, Sir Elton added:

“To see what is happening here breaks my heart, so we have to come together and we have to fight, and this is my bid towards it. To those who have lost their homes, God bless and hope that your lives will be repaired very soon.”

The Golden Globe winner’s pledge follows shortly after dozens of celebrities and influential figures pledged and donated massive sums of money towards the bushfire crisis relief.

A mining mogul and billionaire Andrew Forrest has pledged a whopping $70 million towards the recovery from the Australian bushfire crisis and prevention of similar incidents in the future.

As the businessman explained, $50 million of the donation will go towards plans and strategies that will help Australia “avoid a tragedy striking to this extent ever again.point 414 |

” Another $20 million will be directed at emaciated communities and the residents most affected by the crisis, whereas $10 million will contribute to providing immediate relief with the help of the Salvation Army and the Australian Red Cross.point 206 | 1

“With incredible courage and determination, Australians have united to help those devastated by these bushfires. We recognize that we don’t have all the answers, but we want to understand what communities need and do our bit to help them,” Andrew Forrest told the reporters.

“We are putting $50 million on the table to create resilience in order to encourage other companies and philanthropists from Australia and around the world to build a resilient Australia so we might avoid a tragedy striking to this extent ever again.”

Meanwhile, dozens of celebrities and prominent figures have joined the cause and made remarkable contributions towards firefighters tackling Australia’s worst-ever bushfire crisis.

Some of the well-known figures that have made, or pledged, massive donations include James Packer, Kylie Jenner, Chris Hemsworth, Justin Hemmes, Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman, band Metallica, Russell Crowe, Dacre Montgomery, Rebel Wilson, and Pink.

As for the comedian Celeste Barber, she has managed to raise over $33 million via her global Facebook fundraiser.
