Watch Retired Engineer Show Off His Collection Of Handmade Plane Models!

A retired Royal Air Force engineer and a man with a great passion for airplanes have proudly shown off his massive collection of plane models he created over the past six decades.
For more than 60 years, Cliff White has been creating miniature plane models based on the planes he saw and worked on while performing his duty at the RAF.
Since 1956, Mr. White, who also worked as a teacher before retiring, handmade almost 300 models and filled his home with a model of every RAF plane they ever had in possession.
As the 85-year-old man explained, he is now looking for a new forever home for the model planes because his “eyesight and dexterity is not what it once was. It is now time to try and move them on.”
“I don’t want to see the collection go in the skip. As long as they go to a good home, I won’t be sad to see them go,” Cliff admitted.
“It would be a dream to see them go home to Hendon where I started all those years ago. My model-building story would come full circle.”
According to the former engineer, his obsession with planes started because of his brother who served RAF during World War II.
“It’s never been a serious hobby, but if you build five a year for 60 years, you end up with three hundred,” Cliff humbly added.
“It was just a way of switching off after school and I only worked on them when I was in the mood. I think I’ve probably built the whole Royal Air Force fleet since it came into being — I’m quite proud really.”
