People want England banned from the next two international tournaments in the world of football as the behavior of English fans shocked the world as live footage from the stadium went viral.
They were plenty of disturbing scenes that took center stage recently at the Wembley stadium, just moments before the start of the England versus Italy final match for the 2020 Euro Cup.
People felt that the scenes displayed the fans’ disregard for another as well as others as they went wild calling each other abusive names while assaulting one another too.
But that wasn’t only limited to their fellow English citizens.
Some men also rallied up Italian supporters and began bashing them too for no good reason.Scenes that went viral from the stadium were not only shocking for plenty but also quite offensive for others as some fans went about hurling racial slurs and other abusive slang too. On the other hand, it wasn’t uncommon to see some fans jumping over stadium gates and officials just couldn’t seem to control the situation.
While security at the stadium was at an all-time high, the MET police couldn’t realize that matters were getting worst by the seconds.
The forces deployed at Wembley did manage to make a total of 49 arrests but before and after the match.
A total of 19 people were injured due to the violent behavior of some fans, leaving many with a bad taste in their mouth regarding English supporters.For this reason, many feel that England needs to be banned for at least the next two tournaments so that they can learn how to behave and respect the property as well as people.
England suffered a heartbreaking defeat against the Italians as their star played failed to score a single goal during the penalty shootout round, despite taking the match to extended time.
While some fans signed petitions for a rematch, others put the blame on the officials for not taking action against the Italian captain for committing a foul.
However, England’s captain has taken full responsibility for the defeat of his team, as stated during a recent press conference.
