Enrique Iglesias and Anna Kournikova became proud parents of a baby girl on Thursday, January 30.

“My Sunshine,” the dad of three captioned a photo of himself in the hospital holding his newborn daughter.

The couple also shares Lucy and Nicholas, the 2-year-old twins. After the birth of twins, a source told PEOPLE that she and Iglesias had been “keeping [the pregnancy] very, very undercover.”

“I absolutely want to have children, whether I have my own or adopt,” said Anna adding, “I love taking care of people.”

“[Marriage] isn’t important to me. I’m in a happy relationship — that’s all that matters … I believe in commitment. I believe in being open and trusting each other and respecting each other completely.”

Enrique told PEOPLE en Español in 2007, “The only thing I can say is that, in my opinion, Anna, whether we are together or not, would be an ideal mother.”

“I think she’d be the perfect mother, and I say it regardless of whether I’d be with her or not.”

The two have been together for almost two decades. They began a romance in late 2001 after meeting on the set of his music video “Escape” in which she played Iglesias’s love interest. During his MTV Making of the Video feature in 2001, he spoke candidly about her.

“She’s beautiful, talented, great tennis player,” he says. “It doesn’t take a good actor to kiss Anna and try to make it believable.”

They made their official red carpet debut as a couple at the 2002 MTV VMAs and attended the Once Upon a Time in Mexico premiere in New York City the following year.

They kept their relationship private and stayed low-key in public. “I want my personal life to be as private as possible,” Enrique said in an interview with Australia’s Today Tonight in 2011. “And especially when you’re with someone that’s also known and in the spotlight.”
