Recently, Jeffery Epstein, an American financier, and convicted sex offender was charged for pedophilia and human trafficking.
However, the most recent update on that front is that Epstein was found dead in his cell on 10th August 2019. Apparently, the guards appointed to keep an eye out on him were complacent and slacking in their job.
According to our sources, the two federal Bureau of Prisons employees, Tova Noel, 31, and Michael Thomas, 41, were questioned on Tuesday about the matter.
It was their responsibility to monitor the prisoner when he was staying at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in New York City
According to their testament, the two officers were a mere 15 feet away from Epstein and were busy browsing the internet for furniture and reading sports news.
The body was discovered only in the morning sometime around 6:30 when they were supposed to deliver breakfast to the prison inmates.
Upon discovering the gory scene, the two officers immediately raised the alarm to alert the officials about the incident.
Upon enquiry, the guards admitted to having “messed up” as they “did not do any rounds” the previous night.
Furthermore, one of the guards, Michael Thomas had supervision duty even on July 23rd when Epstein first tried to kill himself.
There are rumours that the death might not be a mere suicide but a planned murder that was carried out by an opposing “criminal enterprise”.
The head of Bureau Prison, Kathleen Hawk Sawyer has revealed the possibility of more malicious intents at play here and that the FBI is investigating the matter.
The two correctional officers attested to their mistake and self-surrendered to the Bureau. Although, they did plead not guilty to the other charges of being accomplices in conspiracy of Epstein’s death.
