Eric Trump has defended his father as he suggested that the President fell victim to cancel culture following the Wednesday insurrection.
As the 37-year-old businessman suggested after major companies and social media platforms cut all ties with the President, organizations are punishing Trump because they don’t agree with him.
“We live in the age of cancel culture, but this isn’t something that started this week. It is something that they have been doing to us and others for years,” Eric said.
“If you disagree with them, if they don’t like you, they try and cancel you.”
Eric’s comments follow shortly after the President was indefinitely blocked from all major social media networks including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube.
Meanwhile, Trump’s longtime allies and businesses have started cutting ties with the President. While Shopify ditched Trump’s e-commerce sites from their platform, the PGA of America announced their iconic Championship event will not take place at Trump’s golf course in Bedminster in 2022.
Following the deadly riot at the Capitol, Deutsche Bank and Signature Bank also distanced themselves from dealings with the President and took actions to prevent further cooperation with Trump and his family.
“We witnessed the president of the United States encouraging the rioters and refraining from calling in the National Guard to protect the Congress in its performance of duty,” the SB stated.
“In conjunction with all of this, Signature Bank began the process to close President Trump’s personal accounts. Signature Bank pledges it will not do business in the future with any members of Congress who voted to disregard the Electoral College.”
Joining in on the punishment was also the City of New York where the President is facing an abrupt end to his golf course and ice skating rinks contracts.
