For California couple Dan and Kasey Cauliflower, having a cat and a dog is just too ordinary. This is why they have a pet tortoise named Ethel who is living a life of luxury at their home in Sonoma. Ethel is a 3-year-old Sulcata tortoise and they’re not content with just having her in one corner. They actually spoil her and dress her up to match their outfits. And Ethel seems to love it!

In fact, with her extensive wardrobe that will make yours pale by comparison, she has accumulated an impressive portfolio of glamorous shots. In fact, she even has an Instagram page called Etheltheglamourtort with almost 33,000 followers.

But Ethel not all about dress up and photoshoots. Her doting parents make sure she’s well-fed and cared for and even takes her for walks to make sure she gets a lot of exercise. As can be seen in the video, Ethel is kitted out in her outdoor wear and is taken for walks at the beach and the park just like you would a dog, complete with a leash attached to the clothes on her shell!

And for those days when they can’t get out, Ethel has her own hamster wheel that serves as her animal treadmill and it’s so cute to watch.

Ethel really is a pampered tortoise and couldn’t have been more lucky to be with Dave and Kasey.

Kasey explained: “We’re not interested in having our own children, so Ethel is 100 percent our baby. She’s like a toddler. Pretty much all day every day you just follow her around cleaning up her messes.”

And like every toddler, Ethel has a dash of mischievousness about her.

“She’ll be lying there, and she’ll just look at you with her little grin, and then you’re just like, ‘Ooohh, bless her little heart.’ And then two seconds later, she’s knocking over the garbage can and creating a huge mess. She can destroy our house.”
